Opt Out of IDtrue in less than a minute
Opting out of IDTrue is quick, easy and important because in addition to getting personal information from IDtrue, entering a name on some other sites will also lead right back to this site. While only basic information is available for free, a paid background report provides a lot of personal details: Arrest records, phone numbers, email addresses, birth records, felonies, traffic records, relatives, address history, social media, sexual offenses, marriages and divorces, property records and more.
Getting right to it…
- To go directly to the opt out link, click HERE.
- Enter your first name, your last name and your state and click “Remove.”
- Locate the information belonging to you and the click, “This is me.”
- Enter your email address and check the 2 boxes to agree that you are the owner of the data and you’re not a robot.
- Confirm your removal request by clicking on the link in the email you receive from IDTrue (or by pasting that link into your browser) and then go back here to search for yourself to verify your information is gone.
- NOTE: If you don’t get the email within moments, check your spam folder.
- Repeat all steps for other records belonging to you.
That’s it. Super easy, right?
Opting out of only one site doesn’t do a whole lot of good although it’s better than nothing. To remove yourself from some other important sites or to verify your information is still gone if you’ve already opted out of other sites, use this link to get to all of my online info removal tutorials. Since sites change frequently and sometimes I update my tutorials, start from the most current tutorial on the blog and work backwards to make sure you’re working from the most recent tutorial for each site. If you run into any questions along the way, be sure to leave a comment on that particular tutorial and I’ll respond to you promptly.
Until next time, … Stay Cyber Safe.
I’ve got a rap sheet as long as your arm. Crikey!
Uh oh. For real or just on the site?
I did not receive the email.
Sandra, first check your spam/junk folder. It’s likely in there. If it’s not you can try opt out again or contact IDTrue to help. Look around their site for a “Contact Us” link or address.

Jose,
You need to remove yourself. I can’t take you out but removing yourself doesn’t get easier than the explanation I give in my article.
